STEPH GRACE
BRIDGES
I walked through the city in Grey cobblestones
I dodged the umbrellas with you on the phone
you said you were done and you’d wait for me at home
and you’d warm up the house so I wouldn’t be cold
I stopped at the shop to buy 1 loaf of bread
I came to the bridges where time we had spent
I stood for a moment with you in my head
and I got on the bus with my pound and my ten
this feeling’s out
this feeling’s out
a fire be burnin through all of my limbs
yes I knew I did
I stayed staring out as the people poured in
watching the rain and feeling the wind
I counted brick houses and the fields they were in
as I came to a town called old Bonnyrigg
my legs they aching I couldn’t feel them no more
and my arms they were shaking but not ‘cause of the cold
my stomach was empty and my fingers were sore
and I knew that I loved you as I came to the door
this feeling’s out
this feeling’s out
a fire be burnin through all of my limbs
yes I knew I did
I came through the door I saw you standing there
I dropped down my bags and I took out my hair
you asked what was wrong and you gave me a stare
and I told you I loved you, I wasn’t going nowhere
this feeling’s out
this feeling’s out
a fire be burnin through all of my limbs
yes I knew I did
yes I knew I did
yes I knew I did
